ABOUT THE ARTIST

IMG_20200501_163128~2_edited.jpg

I've always had a love for animals. While life is full of changes, most unexpected, there is always a constant. For me, that constant was animals. I always had my beloved pets no matter what changes would occur. So, it only seems natural that I would turn to drawing them.

I started getting serious about my art in 2018 when I shifted my focus to mastering realism. While I have a long journey ahead of me before I 'master' realism (if anyone even can) I would like to think that with each drawing I get just a little bit better.

Apart from drawing, I am an avid reader, classically trained flutist, and an equestrian.

ABOUT THE PROCESS

My art focuses on the beauty of animals. Each animal is unique in its own way, and I strive to show that with my work.

I often get my best ideas for paintings when I am with my horse, Clyde (pictured). His calming presence brings out the best of my ideas, and he is the inspiration behind many of my current and future painting ideas.

I also have two sweet pets. A dog, and a cat. Both (at different times) have been my loyal studio assistants, and sit in my lap for hours as I work.  Currently, my senior cat, Sugar is my live-in studio assistant and my travel companion.

Each of my pieces is made with the highest quality materials, ensuring that it will last for many years.
